Junior Under 7

Broadbeach has four Under 7 teams in 2012. Parental involvement is encouraged and in fact crucial at this age group and coaches are usually parents. Emphasis at this age is on basic skills, participation and fun.

Under 7 Red are coached by two of our best Youth-aged players Dean Ambrose and Tah-jon Howard and play in the DOLPHINS division. They are ably supported by a great bunch of parents including manager Alisa Moran. They train Tuesday afternoons.

Former Celtic star and winner of the English Premier League seven times Willie Wallace is Broadbeach United's junior coaching development officer.

Willie also played and coached in the National Soccer league and has had enormous success at Youth level. He works with our club coaches to get the best out of their teams.

“Every coach is different,” is his mantra.

His depth of knowledge is generously passed on to our club coaches, from how to conduct a passing drill to what it takes to score more than 170 goals in the English Premier League, as he did!

Broadbeach United has worked hard over the last few years to improve its coaching development and we continue that success this year. We have put about 10 of our coaches and managers through the Grassroots Coaching Certificate and by the end of this year all of our competition age coaches will be qualified to either Junior or Youth level. Several already have such qualifications, some even higher.

We also have a highly qualified Youth coach in Mark Munro who was instrumental in driving the junior coaching standard last year as coaching director. His knowledge and enthusiasm is willingly passed on to not only the Youth team but to any coaches seeking his guidance.
