Grand Final Thriller

Broadbeach went within a whisker of winning an unprecedented third grand final in a row when they met Southport in the Mens Premier Division grand final at Carrara on Saturday 10 September.

Following on from their 2009 and 2010 grand final wins, Broadbeach finished on top of the table to take the minor premiership from a very close Southport, so it was fitting they met in the grand final.

Unfortunately, the soccer gods favoured Southport who won in a penalty shootout.

The scores were locked at 1-1 at fulltime and then 3-3 after extra time. Southport won the shootout 3-0.

In Premier Reserves however Broadbeach won 1-0 over Gold Coast Kinghts in a hard-fought game.

Our Under 14 team won the Division 2 grand final 6-2 against Burleigh and also won the minor premiership. In fact, this team is now undefeated for the last two seasons!

Our Under 12 Blue team won their grand final 4-1 against Banora Point and also won the minor premiership, losing only one game during the season (against Banora Point!).

Our Open Womens team and Under 13 team also made it through to the semi finals.
