Junior Under 8

We expect to have at four to six Under 8 teams in 2012 and there are vacancies. Players should be turning eight in 2012 to play in this age group (therefore born 2004).

Under 8s play seven-players-a-side with two reserves. They DO have a goalkeeper and use an ‘Instructing Referee’ who can ‘coach’ during the game. They play two 20 minute halves, use a Size 3 ball on a quarter-size pitch. For any parents who want to assist coaching we offer a Grassroots Coaching Course. Games are played on Saturday mornings and there is a training day, usually for an hour after school midweek. The day of training is usually determined by the coach's schedule! Players must wear boots and shin pads, club socks and shorts. A team jersey is provided. Emphasis at this age is on basic skills, participation and fun.

Sign-on day is 4-5 February 2012, at the Chelsea Avenue clubhouse Broadbeach. Training starts in March and the games start in April.
